About This Film

A film about Love, Life, Tea and.... Woody Allen.

Two Mancunians.
Head to NYC to make One film.
But they have No idea...

Mancattan is a fully independent feature film, that was Written, Shot and Edited between 2007 and 2009. The film, shot on MiniDV format, was made entirely by a small team from the North West of England, using their own time, talent, funds and enthusiasm.

Though time and technology have moved rapidly, and with the rise of DSLR cameras achieving filmic looks, HD 1080P streaming, and a multitude of online streaming providers, Mancattan already appears rather dated in terms of the Technology used tomake it. However, the script, performances, and story that make the beating heart of the film, continues to stand the test of time, having been seen by tens of thousands of viewers. The film is the end result of what dogged determination, passion, hard work and the utter refusal to bow down to external pressure and challenges that presented themselves along the way.

This site contains the backdated production blog posts, various items, clips and photogrpahs (in an ever changing state of flux) all of which paint the story of how the film got made, and the trials, tribulations and terrific adventures we had making it all happen.

The film is available for free because we made the film on no money, and never intended to make money. In turn we would not like to take money as we could not pay for the time, effort, contributions, voluntary time and collaborations with all the crew, musicians, actors, artists and photographers who made Mancattan possible.

We made this film for the pure love of it. Instead, any and all advertising revenue sent to the film-makers as a result of hits generated by this film will be DONATED ENTIRELY TO CHARITY.

Therefore, should the need take you to put your hands in your pockets after watching the film, we would kindly ask that you donate some funds to one of our two chosen charities. Many thanks.
